Doris Margolis, 92 of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on Monday, December 7, 2009 at Cypress Glen East in Port Arthur.

Mrs. Margolis’ funeral is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 13, 2009 at Broussard’s in Nederland, Texas with Rabbi Joshua Taub officiating. Final disposition will be Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont, Texas. A gathering of family and friends will be from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Saturday evening at the mortuary.

Mrs. Margolis was a native of Yorktown, Saskatchewan, Canada, but moved to Chicago, Illinois as a young girl. Mrs. Margolis had only moved to the Mid-County area a few weeks ago. She enjoyed dancing and playing the oriental tile game Mahjong.

Mrs. Margolis was preceded in death by her husband Irving Margolis.

She is survived by her son, Dr. Wayne Margolis and his wife Susan of Nederland, Texas; daughter, Linda Meyer and her husband John of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Victoria Margolis and George and Steven Deutsch all of Nederland, Texas; sisters, Zelda Smoller and husband Harry and Ruth Macklin all of Chicago, Illinois; sister-in-law, Marion Rosenberg and a host of nieces and nephews.
