James "Bootsey" Douglas Brown 
December 5, 1925 - November 27, 2009

James “Bootsey” Brown, 83 of Port Acres, died Friday, November 27, 2009 at his residence.   A memorial service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday at Broussard’s in Nederland. Mr. Brown was a native of Pleasantville, Louisiana and has lived in the Groves and Port Acres area for the past sixty-years. He retired from Ameripol/Synpol with thirty-five years of service as a painter. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Groves. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II.    Mr. Brown was survived by his wife Sylvia Brown of Port Acres; three sons, William Russell Brown of Port Acres, Michael Leslie Brown of Port Acres, Kenton James Romero of Lumberton; five daughters, Kim Elizabeth Marino of Beaumont, Christine Ann Shelton of Lumberton, Sibyl Rae Shook of Katy, Hope Marie Thibodeaux of Port Neches Rebecca Faye Tillman of Independence; son, Kenton James Romero of Lumberton; grandchildren, Chad, Lisa, James, Jennifer, John, Jason, Kevin, Carolann, Claire, Chloe, Chase, Sean, Crystal, Savannah and great grandchildren, Bryce, Layne, Caden, Addyson, and Austin.   Memorial contributions in Mr. Brown’s name may be made to the Humane Society of Southeast Texas, 2050 Spindletop Road, Beaumont, Texas 77705.
