Gene Rasheta, 81, of Port Neches, died Thursday, November 26, 2009 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, November 30, 2009 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Rabbi Joshua Taub officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Sunday at the mortuary.

Gene was born July 3, 1928 in St. John, Indiana to Eli and Gertrude Rasheta, and lived in the Port Neches are since 1950. He retired from Ameripol-Synpol in Port Neches after 25 years of service, and served as secretary-treasurer with PACE Local 228 in Port Neches for 15 years and a member of Temple Sinai, Reno, Nevada.

Gene is survived by his wife Beverly Rasheta of Port Neches; one daughter, Kathy Gray and husband, Shane of Reno, Nevada; one son, Nick Rasheta and wife Vonda of Orange; also surviving are his five grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
