Isabelle "Belle" Jannise 
November 28, 1928 - November 21, 2009

Isabelle “Belle” Jannise, 80, of China passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Summer Place Nursing and Rehabilitation in Beaumont.  A native of Churchpoint, Louisiana, she was a longtime resident of China.  Belle loved gardening, quilting, and Cajun music, especially Johnny Jagneaux.

 

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Walters of China and Sharon Hoadley of Mauriceville; four sons, Gerald Jannise of Silsbee, Mickey Jannise of Kountze, Paul Davis Jannise of Call, and Gary Jannise of Escondido, California; two sisters, Yvonne Godeaux of China and Wilma Fontenot of Sulphur, Louisiana; two brothers, Leo Jeanise of Shrievers, Louisiana and Doc Jeanise of Silsbee; twelve grandchildren; and twenty-four great grandchildren.

 

She was preceded in death by her sister, Oleo Jannise of China; three brothers, Asa and Ben Jeanise both of Thibodeaux, Louisiana and Charles Jeanise.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 245 W. Highway 90, China with Reverend Luong Q. Tran officiating. Burial will follow at China Cemetery.  A Rosary will be recited at 5:30 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2009, with visitation to follow at Broussard’s, 1605 N. Major Drive, Beaumont.
