Imo Lee Gardner Campbell 
December 19, 1919 - November 18, 2009

Imo Lee Gardner Campbell, 89, of Lumberton, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009, at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont.

 

She was born December 19, 1919 in Terrell, Texas to Elizabeth Rowell Gardner and Francis Marion Gardner and lived in the Beaumont area for sixty-two years. Imo Lee enjoyed volunteering at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth and Some Other Place.  She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and Wesley United Methodist Church.

 

Survivors include her husband, Leland Campbell of Lumberton; daughter, Darla Duplecion and her husband Blaine of Sour Lake; son, Nolan Wayne Campbell and his wife Sybil of Illinois; grandchildren, Cynthia Mantia and her husband Michael of California, Liza Hickey and her husband Bill of Illinois, and Leah McIntosh and her husband Keith of Sour Lake; four great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Polly Gardner.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harvey Gardner, Lovell Gardner and Vernon Marcell Gardner; and half sisters, Elvie and Ruby.

 

Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2009, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A graveside service will be Saturday, November 21, 2009, in Ridgeway, Texas.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Broussard’s.
