James Bain Price, Jr. 
March 17, 1930 - November 13, 2009

James Bain Price, Jr., 79, died peacefully in the evening hours of November 13, 2009 in Winnie.  He was born March 17, 1930 in Beaumont, the only child of Katherine Owens Price and James Bain Price. Bain attended school at St. Anthony Catholic School in Beaumont and St. Edward’s University in Austin. He served his country in Korea as a soldier in the United States Army.

 

Bain was a rice farmer and Beaumont resident until his retirement. He then moved to Crystal Beach where he owned and operated B&P Marina and B&P Construction Company.  An avid fisherman, hunter and outdoorsman, Bain lived out the remainder of his life at Crystal Beach with his wife Sandra.

 

Bain Price is survived by his wife, Sandra L. Price; his children, Katharine Carmichael of Beaumont, James Bain Price IV and his wife Karen of San Angelo, Teresa Mudd and her husband Donald of Beaumont; stepchildren, Brad Black, Bret Black, Beau Black and his wife Rachel and Becky Cleaver; grandchildren, Tessa, Megan, Michael, Hannah, and JB; step grandchildren, Sarah, Jesse and Frankie; and great grandchildren, Kirby, William and Maggie.

 

Mr. Price is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Mary Kirby Price.

 

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 16, 2009, at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer, Winnie.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2009, at the Mortuary.

 

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s Crematorium.

 

The enduring love of his family and friends is testimony to a life lived with integrity and great loyalty.  So long as there is memory in us, we will remember you, cherished father.
