Billie Sue Stanmire, 89, of Beaumont, died Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Summer Place Nursing and Rehabilitation in Beaumont.

She was born in Buna on January 19, 1920 to Susie Fuller and William Crockett and was a lifelong resident of the Beaumont area. Billie Sue was a retired banker with First City Bank, now called Capital One in Beaumont. She was a member of the Delta Rho Delta Sorority and Wesley United Methodist Church. 

Survivors include her nephews, Rodney Crockett and his wife Carol of Hillsboro, Oregon and Randy Crockett and his wife Terry of Vancouver, Washington; and six great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of almost sixty years, Herbert Stanmire; sister, Mary Jane Crockett; and her brother, William Crockett.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 20, 2009, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Antioch Cemetery in Buna.  A gathering of her family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009, at Broussard’s.
