Kevin McDonald, 30, of Sour Lake, died Wednesday, November 11, 2009.  He was born September 22, 1979, in Port Arthur to Susan Martin McDonald and George S. McDonald and was a lifelong resident of the Beaumont area. Kevin was an operator with Lott Contractors in Beaumont and has served in the United States Army.

He was a 1998 honor graduate of Hardin-Jefferson High School where he excelled in football and basketball.  Kevin was an All-District selection in both sports.

Survivors include his parents, Susan and Shannon McDonald of Sour Lake; daughter, Savannah McDonald of South Carolina; his fiancé, Missy Deem of Sour Lake; brothers, Jake McDonald of College Station and Colton McDonald of Sour Lake; grandparents, Billie Jean and Arthur McDonald of Beaumont; aunts and uncles, Jayne and Glen McDaniel of Warren, Michelle and Jeff Green of Sour Lake, Cecile and Steve McDonald of Beaumont, Shannon and Lee Martin of Lago Vista, and Jennifer  and Ronnie Martin, Jr. of Cypress; great aunt and uncle, Nancy and Don Martin of North Carolina; cousins, Elyse McDonald, Connor McDonald, Audie McDonald, Stacey Gagnon, Joni Bannister, Hannah Martin, Meagan Martin, William McDugle, Alicia Cook, Garrett Jones, Randy Jones, Tanner Green, and Tara Green; and many other loving family members.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Ruth and Ronnie Martin.

His funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of his family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2009, at Broussard’s. A private committal service will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium.
