Betty Jean Gamble Landry, 82, of Batson died Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at Memorial Medical Center in Livingston.  Betty was born April 6, 1927, in Hot Springs, Arkansas to Ferman and Virginia (Aldridge) Stewart.  A resident of Batson for twenty-nine years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughters, Janis Marie Camp of Kingwood, Donna Jean Gamble of Livingston, Jamie Lynn Gamble of Batson, and Phyllis Elaine Landry of Batson; sisters, Levon Howell and her husband Bruce of Hot Springs and Dorothy Ione Vaught of Humble; brother, Bobby Stewart and his wife Paulette of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Frank Leslie Saye and his wife Dawn, Ronnie Joe Saye and his wife Valerie, Paul Rodney Saye and his wife Barbara, Ronnie “Joe” Wyatt and his wife Amy, Steven James Hatcher and his wife Danielle, Michael Tilden Jeanes and his wife Elizabeth, Jerry Lynn Crowder and his wife Tabatha, Terry Keith Jeanes, and Betty Cherie Jeanes; great grandchildren, Makenzie Crowder, Makayla Crowder, Calob Crowder, Landen Crowder, Kade Hatcher, Tilden Wyatt, Braden Wyatt, Traden Wyatt, Madelynn Saye,  Macie Saye, and one more great grandson on the way from Rodney; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, T.J. Landry; sons, Ronnie Gamble and Steve Gamble; sisters, Connie Bowers, Lee Foster, and Mildred Garrett; brothers, James Montgomery and Bill Stewart; and granddaughter, Donna Darling Wyatt.

Funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2009, at Calvary Tabernacle, 28333 FM 770, Batson with Reverend Tolbert Hudspeth officiating. Burial will follow at Guedry Cemetery in Batson under the direction of Broussard’s in Kountze.  A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, November 13, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the church.
