Jo Ellen Mace, 56, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, November 3, 2009, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Jo Ellen was born September 1, 1953, to Oneida Anderson Blackburn and James Blackburn. She volunteered her time at South Park Middle School for more than twenty years.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Mace of Beaumont;  children, Michael J. Mace and Claudia Carballo of Katy, Micah Mace, Joshua Vassar, Matt Mace, and Joey Mace of Beaumont, Evelyn Cole; sister, Jimmie Stumpf and her four children.

Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Magnolia Cemetery.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2009, at Broussard’s.
