Maurine Atkinson, 66, of Winnie died November 2, 2009 at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Maurine had lived in the Winnie area since 1963 and worked as a bookkeeper and secretary for East Chambers I. S. D. before retiring.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s in Winnie. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

She is survived by her husband, David “Ace” Atkinson of Winnie; son, John Atkinson of Stafford; brother, Jimmy Butts and his wife Margaret of Kingsville; sisters, Della Lorfing of LaPort, and Janice Armstrong of Cleveland.  Maurine is preceded in death by son, Kenneth Atkinson, brothers, Bobby Butts and Tommy Butts.
