Jose I. Gonzalez, 85, of Beaumont, died Thursday, October 29, 2009, at his residence.

Born January 1, 1924, in Caplan, Texas to Juanita Chavez Gonzalez and Jose Mercedé Gonzalez, and was a lifelong resident of the Beaumont area.  Jose was retired with Golden Triangle Pipe and was a United States Army veteran having served in World War II.

Survivors include his daughter, Brenda Kay Sanchez; grandchildren, Crystal Diane Luckey, Heather Leigh Piña, and Tiffany Kay Cuello; and siblings, Delphine Espinoza, Julian Gonzalez, Carmen Tigerina, Alfred Gonzalez and his wife Lillie, and Juanita Munoz.

He is preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Gonzalez.

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2009, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  A Rosary will be recited 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2009, at Broussard’s.
