Kelsie Beaubouef
August 4, 1925 - October 28, 2009

Kelsie Beaubouef, 84, of Nederland, Texas, passed away at his home on Wednesday, October 28, 2009. He was born August 4, 1925, to John Alvin and Cennie Beaubouef in Vick, Louisiana. After high school, he served his country during the Second World War as a member of the United States Marine Corps.  Upon completion of his military service, he married his wife of 56 years, Kay, and they soon settled in Nederland, where he spent the rest of his life. Kelsie retired from Fina Refinery in Port Arthur, Texas in 1985 after 34 years of service. He could be found Sundays at First Baptist Church of Nederland, where he shared his welcoming presence of the congregation by serving as a greeter at the doors. In addition, Kelsie was a avid fan of all Nederland Bulldog sports, as well as a devoted Dallas Cowboys and the Houston Astros. Every fall and winter would find him making many trips to Llano, Texas, to purse Hill Country whitetail deer. He was also a member of the Nederland Masonic Lodge N. 1368. His favorite pastime of all, however, was keeping up with the activities of his two daughters and four grandchildren.

Kelsie is survived by his wife and lifelong love, Kay; daughter Bonnie Reynolds and her husband Conrad; daughter Pattye Helmke and her husband Phillip, brother Rudolph Beaubouef and his wife Janie; brother Randolph Beaubouef and his wife Brenda; sister Janelle Beaubouef; grandchildren Ryan Reynolds, Emily Helmke, Beau Helmke, and Eric LeBlanc; and numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and friends. Preceding Kelsie in death were his parents, John Alvin and Cennie Beaubouef, and sisters Lilly Beaubouef, Addie Rice, Elsie McNeely, and Vivian Holloman.

Visitation will take place at First Baptist Church of Nederland on Friday, October 30, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Services will be held at First Baptist Church of Nederland at 2 P.M. on Saturday, October 31, 2009, and afterward Kelsie will be laid to rest at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches.
