Maxine Sonnier, 76, of Winnie, died October 26, 2009, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont.
A native of Port Arthur, Maxine lived all her life in the Winnie area where she worked as a bookkeeper. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Winnie-Stowell.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Broussard’s Chapel, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Maxine is survived by her husband, Wilbert Sonnier; children; Oma Marie Watley and her husband John, Gerald Avon Crosby, Jr. all of Winnie, Timmothy Lynn Sonnier and Lesa Sonnier of Houston, Suzette Martin and her husband, Jerry of Snyder; sister, Opal Corbett of Houston; grandchildren, Jeanne Martinez, Blair Waites, Scotty Crosby, Theresa Stephens, Michelle Bird, Christopher Sonnier, Tasha Sonnier, Brittany Sonnier, Bridgette Sonnier, Shawn Watley, Schuyler Watley; great-grandchildren, Aurora Martinez, Courtney Waites, Laura Martinez, Paige Waites, Rebecca Martinez, Alberto Martinez, Clarissa Bird, Brantley Stephens, Abbey Stephens, Grace Bird, Isabelle Bird; and numerous nieces; nephews and friends.
