Tong Ang Tang 
March 5, 1930 - October 24, 2009

Tong Ang Tang left unexpectedly but peacefully while he was home alone trying to peel a persimmon and watching television.  His favorite hobbies included playing Mahjong with friends, shopping for cars, and appliances.  He also enjoyed playing cards at home with his sons, daughters, grandchildren and in-laws, or just being around family.

 

A native of Cambodia, he lived in Los Angeles, California and Beaumont, Texas as well.  He lived through the bad time of communist era Cambodia as well as the good times in pre-communists era Cambodia and in the United States.

 

He was a devoted husband, a loving father of nine children and great grandfather to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Mr. Tang is survived by his devoted wife, Ngam Phiv Kim; nine children; twenty-six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.  He will be forever remembered and missed.

 

A celebration of his life will be 9:30 a.m.Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Broussard’s.

 

All contributions will be donated to life celebration at Temples in Cambodia.
