William “Bill” T. Tanner, 82, of Beaumont, died Monday, October 19, 2009, at his residence. He was a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma and resided in Beaumont for fifty-six years.

His parents, Bessie and Allen Tanner; sisters, Pauline Belmont and Alberta Tew; and brother, Allen “Buck” Tanner preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife of twenty-six years, Barbara Tanner; sons, Steve Woodward of Beaumont, William “Bill” Tanner, Jr. of Kountze and Rocky Duffy; daughter, Wanda Thornton and her husband Ron of Missouri; grandchildren, Billy Woodward, George Woodward, Natalie Thornton, Elizabeth Thornton, Brandon Thornton and Elizabeth Mcelarth; great-grandchildren, Blake Woodward, Karson Thornton, Ethan Thornton, Nowell Mcelarth and Trinity Mcelarth; brother, Douglas Tanner of Las Vegas and David Joe Tanner of Alaska; sisters, Nema Shanklin of Reddings, California and Nestie Haughn of Eureka, Montana; and many other loving family members.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, October 24, 2009, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. A gathering of his family and friends will be 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, October 23, 2009, at the mortuary.
