John Greathouse, 89 of Beauxart Garden, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2009 at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, October 16, 2009 at Broussard’s Mortuary in Nederland with Reverend Charlie Day officiating. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00-8:00 PM, Thursday at the mortuary.

Mr. Greathouse was a native of Krebs, Oklahoma and has lived most of his life in Beauxart Garderns. He retired from the City of Beaumont as a supervisor in the water department with 42 years of service. He served his country in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Greathouse enjoyed coaching little league baseball and girls softball.

He is survived by his wife Sue Greathouse of Beauxart Gardens; daughter, Mary Greathouse of Galveston; son, David Greathouse of Corpus Christi; four grandchildren, Todd, Joey, Gina and Willie Greathouse; and sister Sallie Day and husband Charlie of Burney.
