John "Jack" Stuart Scott, Sr. 
March 24, 1921 - October 13, 2009

John Stuart “Jack” Scott, Sr., 88, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009.  He was a great husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Patti and James Wolff of Beaumont; son, Dr. John S. Scott, Jr. of Keller; and grandson, Dr. James Wolff, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Beaumont; great-grandson, Zachary Wolff; sister, Doris Brockway of Iowa; nephew, Jim Stott  and his wife Judy; cousins, nieces, and nephews too numerous to ever forget; close friends, Dick and Billie Osborn, Dorothy Yentzen, Theresa Zavodny, Beatrice and Shirley Chargois, Sue Kingsbery, Tonia Nakhla, and Bob and Liz Harris. 

He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children, Bertie Lee Edgar Scott; then his second wife and our mom, Loucille Scott; and grandson, Jason Scott Wolff.

Mr. Scott was born March 24, 1921, in Troy, New York and raised in St. Albans, New York.  He was a Graduate of Poly Tech Institute of Brooklyn. After moving to Beaumont joined the Marine Corp in 1942 during World War II earning his rank of Staff Master Sergeant as a radar specialist.  Mr. Scott served in the Philippines and also the battles of Saipan and Tinian

He was a successful business owner of Covington Distributing Company for forty years. Mr. Scott was a charter member of Trinity United Methodist Church where he served as usher captain and participated in various committees. He was an active community volunteer having been a former commander of the American Legion Post 33, current Rotary Club member and recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow award.  Mr. Scott volunteered at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth and Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital as the “popcorn man”.  His hobbies were playing bridge, golf, travel, pet lover, fellowship with family and friends, and looked forward to cooking and eating “delicious” meals. 

His funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009, at Trinity United Methodist Church with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Serving as pallbearers will be Dick Osborn, Jim Arthur Stott, Robert Campbell, Dr. Bill Baxley, Dr. Mike Oszczakiewicz, and Robert Harris. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2009, at Broussard’s.

He enjoyed life to the fullest and never met a stranger.  He was my best friend, confidant, biggest fan, counselor, motivator, and father. Papa, you will be greatly missed!
