Joe Carroll Phillips, Sr., 86, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, October 7, 2009. He was born September 6, 1923, in Guys, Tennessee to Rebecca Forsythe and Luther Phillips. Joe was a longtime resident of the Beaumont area and a pharmacist with Bill Thames Pharmacy and later retired with Eckerd Drug. He was a United States Navy veteran having served in World War II.
Survivors include his daughter, Kathryn Cormier of Beaumont; son, Joe Phillips, Jr. of Beaumont; grandchildren, Kristina Collazo and Danielle Cormier; brothers, Coleman Phillips and James Phillips; sisters-in-law, Rosa Perello, Frances Davis, and Avis Perello; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Angie Perello Phillips.
His graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2009, at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
