David Newman, 55, of Nederland passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at his residence.    Funeral service will be Friday, October 9, 2009 at 2 pm in the chapel of Broussard’s in Nederland with Bro. Frank Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the mortuary.    Mr. Newman was a native of Shreveport, Louisiana and lived in Nederland since 1966. He was an operator in the petroleum industry and was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing and playing golf and proudly served his country in the Army. Mr. Newman is survived by his daughter, Candice Newman; mother, Belvie Newman and brother John Paul Newman all of Nederland. Also survived by several aunts and uncles and a host of other relatives and friends .He was preceded in death by his father Harold Newman.
