Julia Smith Dean, 82, of Lumberton, died Monday, September 28, 2009.     Julia was born on February 14, 1927 in Sarepta, Louisiana to Monroe and Camille Smith.  She lived in Lumberton where she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her sons, Dana Dean and his wife Dorothy of Vidor and Donnie Dean and his wife Billie of San Antonio; seven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sisters, Ernestine Pickard, Roberta Osborne, Betty Carruth, and Joyce Henson; and brother, Reed Smith.

Julia is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Preston Dean and her parents.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, October 2, 2009, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee, with burial to follow at R. S. Farmer Cemetery in Silsbee.  A gathering of family and friends will be Thursday, October 1, 2009, 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Broussard’s.
