Walter Lee “Wally” Roberts, 59, of Sour Lake, died Sunday, September 27, 2009, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth.

He was born May 23, 1950, in El Paso, Texas to Ellen A. Ott and William B. Roberts.  Walter was a lifelong resident of Beaumont and was a designer/draftsman with CB&I with thirty years of service.  He was an avid outdoorsman; enjoying hunting and fishing. Walter was a United States Navy veteran having served in Vietnam.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Roberts of Sour Lake; son, Greg Roberts and his wife Janilyn of Beaumont; granddaughter, Olivia Roberts of Beaumont; father, William B. Roberts of Beaumont; brother, Bill Roberts and his wife Marilyn of Maryland Height, Missouri; sisters, Aggie Ott of Colorado Springs, Texas and Ruth Lamb and her husband Randy of Spring; niece, Kristi Lamb; and nephew, Jason Lamb both of Spring.

He was preceded in death by his baby son, Jeremy Roberts; mother, Ellen Roberts; and mother-in-law, Mildred Jackson.

His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2009, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.   A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Broussard’s.
