Grace Marie Leone 
September 6, 1931 - September 24, 2009

Grace Marie Leone, 78, of Winnie and formerly of Gilchrist died Thursday, September 24, 2009, at Winnie Community Hospital.  Grace was born in Burke, Texas on September 6, 1931, to John and Rose (Kanjura) Smith and was a retired beautician.  Voted “Miss Legs Texas” in 1949, Grace loved fifties and sixties country music and never missed a party.   Known to never meet a stranger, she lived her life by her rules and one always knew where you stood with her.

 

She is survived by her husband, Roy Leone of Winnie; sons, Jerry Buckley and his wife Sheila of Port Aransas, Wayne Walker of Monroe, North Carolina and Duane Walker of Winnie; daughter, Pam Walker of Hernando, Mississippi; twelve grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.   Her memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at First Baptist Church Crystal Beach in Crystal Beach.   Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Grace to First Baptist Church, 1260 Highway 87, Crystal Beach, Texas 77650.
