Mitchell Byrd, 20 of Nederland passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 in Houma, Louisiana.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 pm Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland with Rev. Dan Malain officiating. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Nederland under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm Tuesday, September 29, 2009 with a Christian Vigil at 6 pm at the mortuary.   Mitch was a native and lifetime resident of Nederland. He was a crew leader at Wendy’s restaurant and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Nederland, was an Eagle Scout and loved his music and golf.   Mitch is survived by his parents, Ricky and Denise Byrd of Nederland; brother, Jared Byrd of Nederland; grandfather, Richard C. Byrd Sr. of Vidor and a host of other relatives and friends. He will be especially missed by his faithful four legged companions Buster Brown and Abby.
