Frank Allen Barthelemy, 75, of Nederland, Texas, passed away September 21, 2009 in Port Arthur, Texas.
Funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Faith Tabernacle in Port Arthur with Reverend Randy Hammer officiating. Entombment will follow in Tranquility Mausoleum at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches, Texas under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. Visitation will begin at 12 noon Wednesday with the family present from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the mortuary.
Born in Ansley, Louisiana on August 22, 1934 to Frank Joseph and Cliffie Jane Barthelemy, Frank grew up in Jonesboro Hodge, Louisiana. He graduated from Bossier City High School in Bossier City, Louisiana in 1954 and started work with Amoco Production Company then called Pan American Oil Company. He was married to his school sweetheart, Linda, in November of 1956. Shortly after in December of that same year, Frank was drafted and took a leave of absence from Amoco to serve in the Army. He was honorably discharged and returned home to his family and his career with Amoco in December of 1958. Frank and Linda then started their family and became proud parents with the birth of their eldest son Mark in September of 1959. One quickly became two in April of 1961 with the arrival of their son Randall. A few years later they were blessed with the surprise of one more bundle of joy, a third son they named David in March of 1971. Frank and his family lived in several cities and made many friends while he worked as a Material Supervisor with Amoco Oil Company until his retirement in October of 1993 after 38 years of service. Frank and Linda made Nederland their home in 1994.
He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, supportive father and faithful friend. He was an honest and generous man who will be missed by many.
Mr. Barthelemy is survived by his wife of 52 years, Linda Barthelemy of Nederland; sons, Mark Barthelemy of Apex, North Carolina; Randall Barthelemy of Winnfield, Louisiana; David Barthelemy of Kirbyville, Texas and David’s wife Michelle; four grandchildren, Amanda Brown, Mark, Malynda and Dawson Barthelemy, three great grandchildren, Dylan, Dayton, and Kaytlan Brown and sister, Lillian “Tommie” Humphries of Bossier City, Louisiana.
