Bessie Mae Gladson Early, 97, of Winnie died September 20, 2009, at the San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown.

She was born June 10, 1912 in Snyder, Texas to her parents Earl and Hettie Gladson and was a member of the Methodist Church. Mrs. Early enjoyed making quilts for all her family and ran a home beauty shop for forty years. She lived in the Winnie area for twelve years.

Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. at the Hillside Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 2834 S. Hwy 208, Snyder, Texas under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Early is survived by her son, Don Hodges and his wife Tommye of Winnie; daughter, Billie Wilson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Dianne Gaudet, Steven Hodges, Michael Logan, Andrew Wilson, Amy Liebetreu; great-grandchildren, Amber Marlin, Derrick Gaudet, Dustin Gaudet, Ashley Gaudet, Brooke Hodges, Kahla Hodges, Jeremy Logan, Natalie Liebetreu; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. B. Early, Sr.; parents, Earl and Hettie Gladson; five brothers; two sisters and granddaughter, Cynthia Logan.
