Sara Beth English, 87, of Beaumont, died Monday, September 21, 2009, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

She was born November 13, 1921, in Livingston, Texas to Ida and Treat Martin. Sara retired from Eldridge Electric Company as a bookkeeper. She was a devout Christian, a very loving mother and enjoyed helping others.

Survivors include her son, John D. English and his wife Sandy Brantley of Beaumont; granddaughters, Wendy Goldsworthy and her husband Brian of California and Amanda Guy and her husband Rody of Lumberton; grandson, Samuel English of Conroe; great-grandson, Blake Waugh; and Deborah English of Magnolia; and her cat, Lulu.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ida and Treat Martin; son, James M. English; and her husband, E.B. Byerly.

A private committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
