Eleanor H. Krueger 
June 22, 1919 - September 20, 2009

Eleanor H. Krueger, 90, of Beaumont, died Sunday, September 20, 2009, at Christus Hospital, St. Elizabeth.

 

A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Eleanor was born June 22, 1919, and graduated from Beaumont High School in 1936. After earning an Associate of Arts Degree from Lamar College in 1938, Eleanor began working as a bookkeeper for Pittsburg Glass and Thomas and Royal. She married W.E. “Bill” Krueger on December 13, 1950, and later retired as a bookkeeper from St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

 

Always generous with her time and talents, she was part of many church, civic and social organizations such as St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Ida Reed Garden Club, Federation of Republican Women and United Appeal. She was also Charter Member of Preceptor Zeta Chapter Beta Sigma Phi. In addition to spending time with her family, her favorite hobbies were working in the library as well as working with the children at her church. She was a lady in every sense of the word.

 

Her husband, W.E. “Bill” Krueger; parents, Florence Eleanor and A. E. Hunt; brother, Andrew Earl Hunt, Jr.; and sisters, Robina McFaddin, Earline Shelton and Evelyn Lewis preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include her sons, Lawrence Krueger and his wife Gloria of Vidor, Michael Krueger of Dallas, and David Krueger and his wife Sharon of Bedford; grandchildren, Kevin Krueger, Kerry Rose, Jacob Krueger and Charity Krueger; and many nieces and nephews. She will always be remembered and appreciated.

 

A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Magnolia Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2009, at the mortuary.

 

The family would like to thank the staff of Atria Collier Park for the loving care given over the years and for making a dignified and fulfilling life possible.
