Elizabeth Newsome McBride, 49, of Winnie, died September 17, 2009 at the Winnie Community Hospital.

A native of Port Arthur, Liz had lived in the Winnie area since 1984.  She was co-owner of Vaughn’s AC and a member of St. Louis Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 W. Buccaneer Drive with burial in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie.  A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Liz is survived by her loving husband, Vaughn McBride; son, Kris McBride and his wife Andrea; nephew/son, Casey DeYoung; mother, Gail Kidd Bertrand all of Winnie; father, George Newsome and his wife Martha of Groves; brothers, George Michael Newsome and his wife Diane of Groves, Bill Newsome and his wife Mary of Port Neches; sister, Theresa Donaghy and her husband John of Winnie; step-sister, Ginger Better and her husband David of Lake Jackson; grandson, Spencer McBride and numerous relatives,   nieces, nephews and friends.  She was preceded in death by her “Meeme” Sybil Newsome.
