Theresa O. Wilson 
October 10, 1912 - September 15, 2009

Theresa O. Wilson, 96, of Beaumont, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2009, with her family by her side. 

 

Mrs. Wilson, affectionately known to her family as “Ol Mama“, was born October 10, 1912, in St. Martinville, Louisiana and lived in Beaumont for the last sixty-five years. She was a long-time member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church and current member of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Beaumont. Her joy in life was her faith and her family, especially her children, all her grandchildren and her nieces and nephews who knew to stop by for lunch because she always had something good to eat, along with a little something sweet afterwards.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph D. Wilson; and her son, Lynn J. Wilson. Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Dora W. Brockett and her husband Wayne of Beaumont, Jerri Adrio and her husband Raymond of Orange and William P. Wilson and his wife Luanna of Nederland; grandchildren, Deena Brockett Clausen, Amy Adrio Duerler, Craig Adrio, Mary Lynn Wilson, Susan Adrio Gunstream, Haley Brockett Ponfick, Jill Wilson Wheat, Kristen Wilson Woodcox and Allison Wilson; great grandchildren, Kelli Jurek, Betsy McKinney, Brandy Mayo, Blake Duerler, Jamie Wheat, Shea Duerler, Luke Gunstream, Caitlin Duerler, Kacy McKinney, Dakota Wheat, Jenna Ponfick, Ryan Gunstream, Lindsey Adrio, Emilee Adrio, Macie Adrio, Allie Duerler, Drew Woodcox, Jane Ponfick, Lane Ponfick, Joli Ponfick, Wilson Woodcox and Annabella Woodcox; great-great grandchildren, Sammy and Dyllon Jurek; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 18, 2009, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church in Beaumont with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, September 17, 2009, at Broussard’s.  Serving as pallbearers will be Ray Clausen, Wayne Duerler, Mark Gunstream, Allen Ponfick, Joe Woodcox, Blake Duerler, Shea Duerler and Luke Gunstream.

 

The family expresses special gratitude to the staff of Sabine Oaks Assisted Living for their loving care of our mother and grandmother and also thanks to the staff of Dr. Mark Toups.
