Constance "Connie" Jones 
January 1, 1922 - September 14, 2009

Constance “Connie” Jones, 87, of Beaumont, died Monday, September 14, 2009, at her home with her family by her side.

 

A native and life long resident of Beaumont, Connie was a retired bank officer with Lamar State Bank, dedicating twenty-seven years of service.  Connie became the first woman bank officer in Beaumont.  

 

Survivors include her daughter, Judy Humphrey and her husband Don of Beaumont; grandchildren, Kelly Jones and her husband Peter of Beaumont, Jana Watson and her husband David of Nacogdoches, and Jimmy Beasley and his wife Misty of Midland; great grandchildren, Bailey, Kendall, and Sydney Jones, Preston and Avery Watson.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Abye and James Rivet, Sr.; husband, William “Bill” Jones; and brothers, Ralph Rivet, J.A. Rivet, and Lester Rivet.

 

Connie and Bill enjoyed sixty-three wonderful years of marriage. After retirement, the two of them traveled the world, making lifelong friends as far as Lancaster, England. Their greatest joys in life came from spending time with their daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.  Their love and devotion to each other is an example to be admired by all.

 

Her funeral service will be 9:00 a.m. Thursday, September 17, 2009, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at King Cemetery in Hartburg, Texas.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at Broussard’s.
