George R. Sigler 
July 28, 1931 - September 12, 2009

George R. Sigler, 78, of Beaumont, died Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont. He was born July 28, 1931, in Elizabeth, Louisiana to Desmond F. and Verna C. (Campbell) Sigler. George was a graduate of Lutcher Stark High School and Louisiana State University, and served his country in the Strategic Air Command.  A former resident of Orange and resident of Beaumont since 2000, he was a retired Professional Engineer from DuPont Sabine River Works.  He was a longtime member of Wesley United Methodist Church.

 

George is preceded in death by his parents; and his first wife, Joyce M. Sigler. He is survived by his wife, Martha Sigler of Beaumont; sons, Ron Sigler of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Dr. Scott C. Sigler and his wife Dr. Kala Sigler of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Thomas H. Sigler of Palmer, Alaska; Martha’s children, Richard Bernard, Donna Parker, Scott Bernard, and David Bernard; twelve grandchildren; sister, Patricia Skinner of Silsbee; brother, Carlys of San Salvador, Brazil; and his beloved pet, Coco.

 

His memorial service will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3810 North Major Drive, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the church prior to service time.
