Fred Albert King Jr.

Fred Albert King Jr., 68, of Port Neches, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2009 in Parkland, Florida.   A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Broussard’s in Nederland. Please join our family to celebrate the life of Fred King on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 2 pm at the mortuary with Bro. David Carter officiating. Graveside service will be 3 pm Friday, September 18, 2009 in Paul’s Cemetery in Forest Hill, Louisiana.   Mr. King was a native of Columbus, Georgia and a lifetime resident of the Mid County area. He was co-owner of The Bottle Shop and Arthur’s Pub and owner of King’s Cuestick. Mr. King was a master chess player and played in The World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. He proudly served his country in the Air Force.   Mr. King is survived by his wife of 43 years, Barbara King of Port Neches; his daughter, Kathy Kestler and husband James Kestler of Parkland, Florida; sister, Sue Knepp and husband Keith of Austin and his mother, Sylvia “Billie” Hossley of Nederland. He was preceded in death by his step father Harry Hossley. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
