Sidney Doucet, Sr. 
August 12, 1946 - September 10, 2009

Sidney Doucet, Sr., 63, of Bevil Oaks, died Thursday, September 10, 2009, Medical City Dallas Hospital in Dallas.

 

He was born August 12, 1946, in Church Point, Louisiana to Edna and Etienne Doucet.  Sidney has been a resident of the Beaumont area for over forty years and was a yard master with KCS Railroad.

 

He enjoyed hunting, golfing, bay fishing and was a member of the YMBL for many years.

 

Survivors include his wife, Sue Doucet of Bevil Oaks; sons, Sidney Doucet, Jr. and his wife Barbara, and Sammy Doucet and his wife Juana all of Dallas, Seth Doucet of Lake Alfred, Florida, and Michael Bihm of Bevil Oaks; daughter, Michelle Woodward and her husband Clay of Lumberton; brothers, Vilfrey Doucet and Etienne Doucet, Jr. both of Church Point, Louisiana, and Wilbert P. Doucet of Groves; sisters, Lelia Doucet and Letha Seaux both of Lafayette, Louisiana, and Shirley Kidder of Church Point, Louisiana; and fifteen grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Etienne Doucet; sister, Gladys Schexneider; and brother, Villa J. Doucet.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Monday, September 14, 2009, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church in Sour Lake with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  A gathering of his family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, September 13, 2009, at Broussard’s. There will be an additional viewing from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Monday morning at Broussard’s.
