Evelyn Delores Craigen Maddox, 70, of Fannett, died Tuesday, September 8, 2009, at home with her family by her side.

A native of Fannett, she was born September 20, 1938, to Idabell and Edward Craigen, and has been a resident of Fannett most of her life. Evelyn was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Fannett.

Survivors include her husband, George “Buster” Maddox of Fannett; sons, William Earl Maddox, Jr. and his wife Kathy, David Wayne Maddox, and Raymond Lynn Maddox all of Fannett; daughters, Wanda Maddox Greene and her husband Dr. Craig H. Greene of Opelousas, Louisiana, and Tonia Maddox Dryden and her husband Billy of Fannett; step-daughter, Marilyn Nolen; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Ima Jean Porter, and Edlena Bretz; brothers, Charles Edward Craigen, and Eddie Lee Craigen, Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Earl “Bill Maddox, Sr.; and her sister, Shirley Meyers Stevenson.

Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Broussard Cemetery in Fannett.  A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2009, at Broussard’s.
