Brenda Joyce Mashburn Williamson, 68, of Port Neches, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2009 in Port Arthur, Texas.

Funeral Service is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday afternoon at Brousssard's in Nederland, with Dr. David Higgs officiating. Interment will follow on Monday at 3:00 P.M. in Ebony Cemetery, Goldthwaite, Texas. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday evening, September 5, 2009 from 5:00–8:00 P.M. at the mortuary.

Mrs. Williamson was born in Brownwood, Texas on November 15, 1940 and has lived in this area most of her life. She was a graduate of Nederland High School and was one of the first Westernaires. Brenda later graduated from Durham Business School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nederland where she sang in the church choir. When Brenda was working at Coastal Petroleum, she enjoyed traveling, square dancing or sewing.

Mrs. Williamson was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin Rodney Mashburn and Willie Faye Lee Mashburn and sister, Gailya Mahburn Demler.

She is survived by husband, Charles R. Williamson of Port Neches; sons, James Brent McElwee  of Anchorage, Alaska; Barry Scott McElwee and wife Jeanne of Nederland, Texas; grandchildren, Ryan McElwee, Corey McElwee, Daniel Van Hook, Erin McElwee, Julia McElwee, Jason McElwee and a host of other relatives and friends.
