Vernon Ray Williford, 61, of Silsbee died September 3, 2009, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth.  Vernon was born November 25, 1947, in Silsbee to Algie and Susie (Dowden) Williford.  Having lived most of his life in the Kountze area, he was a dock loader in the shipping department at Temple Inland.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his wife, Josie Williford of El Paso; sons, Ray Ronquillo and his wife Cindy of Silsbee and Richie Ronquillo and his wife Kristy of Hunstsville, Alabama; brother, Leonard Williford and his wife Carolyn of Kountze; and grandchildren, Merissa Ronquillo, Ashley Bartley, Blake Dougherty, Brandi Williamson, Stephanie Sirmons, Brandy McKinney, and Kylie Jones.

Funeral service will be 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 6, 2009, at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with Reverend Robert Hall officiating.  Burial will follow at Fellowship Cemetery in Warren.  A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, September 5, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
