Royal Vincent Tiner 
December 5, 1930 - September 3, 2009

Royal Vincent Tiner, 78, of Lumberton went home to be with his Lord on Thursday, September 3, 2009.  Royal was born on December 5, 1930 in Beaumont to William David and Pearly Almeda (Reese) Tiner. A resident of Lumberton most of his life he was a retired painter from Local 421 and was a longtime member of Parkway Life Church in Lumberton.  Royal also proudly served his country serving in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and he received the Purple Heart for injuries received during his tour of duty.

 

Royal is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, LaPrelle Tiner of Lumberton; his daughters, Charlotte Brooks and her husband Stoney of Lumberton, Gwen Vassar and her husband Harold of Sour Lake; his brother, James Tiner and his wife Julia of Texarkana, Arkansas; his sister, Camille Decker and her husband Robert of Sour Lake; his grandchildren, Stoney Brooks, Jr., Scott Brooks, Stephanie Brooks, Paula Reed, Devin Bean, Kevin Tiner and Joshua Vassar, along with eight great-grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Vincent Earl Tiner, Sr., and his grandson, Vincent Earl Tiner, Jr.

 

Funeral service will be at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Parkway Life Church in Lumberton with Reverend Cecil Davis and Reverend Nathan Keating officiating.  Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s in Silsbee.  A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, September 5, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Broussard’s.

 

The family has requested that memorial contributions be made in Royal’s name to Parkway Life Church, P. O. Box 8586 Lumberton, Texas 77657.
