LaDonna C. Dillon, 78, of Beaumont, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2009, at Calder Woods Nursing Home.

A native of Beaumont, LaDonna was born April 8, 1931, to Minnie B. and Thomas Lester Cruse. She retired from the Beaumont Independent School District in 1989, after teaching business education courses for thirty-seven years. As a hobby, she raised smooth-hair terriers and took great pride in one terrier, “Wanda-the-Witch”, which won “Best of Breed” at the Westminster Dog Show at Madison Square Gardens. LaDonna will be remembered for many years by her family and friends for her positive attitude and charming wit.

She is survived by her sister, Wanda Landrey and her husband Floyd of Beaumont; nieces, Leslie Landrey of Houston, and Ricca Richardson and her husband David of Houston; nephew, Jed Landrey and his wife Lori of Kingwood; four great-nieces; four great-nephews; and longtime care givers, Lynda Comeaux and Rose Soloman.

A private graveside service was held Saturday, August 29, 2009, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with Phil Hilliard officiating under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont.
