Emory Custer, 72, of Fannett passed away Saturday, August 29, 2009, at Harbor Hospice House in Beaumont.  A native of Beaumont, Emory was born December 27, 1936. He served in the United States Marine Corps, was a retired construction superintendent, and a charter member of Faith United Methodist Church in Fannett.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emory and Garland Custer; son, Jeffrey Duane Custer; and sisters, Beth Shaw and Joyce Heinz. 

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Custer; sons, Michael Custer and Matthew Custer; grandchildren, John Custer, Kathleen and Colt Westbrook, Alexus Custer, Dalton Custer; great grandson, Emory Louis Westbrook; sister, Joanne Custer; and numerous nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 1, 2009, at Broussard’s, 1605 N. Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.  A gathering of his family and friends will be Monday, August 31, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
