Archie J. Land Sr. 92, of Port Acres passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont.   Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, August 28, 2009 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Rev. Jeff Bell officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves. A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the mortuary.   Mr. Land was born in Port Arthur and lived in Port Acres most of his life. He retired from Fina Oil and Chemical in Port Arthur as an operator with 30 years of service. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Port Acres, and also served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.   Mr. Land was preceded in death by Lucille Devers Land, the mother of his son, also his son, Archie J. Land Jr., and his step-daughter, Dian Feltman. He is survived by his wife, Myrtis Land of Port Acres; one son, Archie J. Land Jr. and his wife Jenelle of Nederland; grandson, Shaun Land and his wife Kelly of Pearland; granddaughter, Ashlie Land of Houston; great grandson, Rhett Land of Pearland; three step-sons, Billy Feltman and his wife Janet of Lufkin, Jack Feltman and his wife Joyce of Orange, and Steve Feltman and his wife Bev of Nederland; one step-daughter, Doris Bilderback and her husband Carl of Pottsboro. Also surviving Mr. Land are his 13 step-grandchildren.
