Bubba Hughes, 43, of Thicket died August 26, 2009, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  Bubba was born October 26, 1965, in Liberty, Texas to Douglas Earl and Carrol Ann (Rayburn) Hughes, Sr.  A resident of Thicket most of his life, Bubba was the owner of H&O Services in Thicket.

He is survived by his wife, Cheryldine Hughes of Thicket; son, Justin Cade Hughes of Thicket; father, Doug Hughes, Sr. and his wife Lessie of Thicket; mother, Carrol Hudspeth and her husband Buster of Monticello, Mississippi; sister, Daneen Oswalt and her husband Randy of Thicket; brother, Jesse Hughes of Honey Island; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Batson, 42803 Hwy 105, Batson under the direction of Broussard’s in Kountze. Burial will follow at Felps Cemetery in Thicket.  A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, August 28, 2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the church.
