Educated in Northern schools, for many years she was in business with her mother.  Eda married her first husband, Russell McQuilkin, who was killed in Belgium during World War II.  She was later employed with an interior design and decorating firm in Massachusetts, where she met and married Carl Harrison Moore.  Mr. and Mrs. Moore then moved to Beaumont where they made their home.

She is survived by her daughters, Susan Thweatt and her husband Ron of Beaumont, Debra Smith and her husband Steven of Jacksonville, Florida, and Michele A. Moore of Beaumont; and grandchildren, Andrea Michele Ames of Austin, twins, Wyatt and Alex Smith of Florida, and Barry Thweatt and his wife Marsha of Jarrell, Texas; and numerous cousins, family members and friends in Canada and Texas.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Russell McQuilkin; her second husband, Carl Harrison Moore; and her brother, Clifford Kelshaw.

Eda, known to most as “Tu Tu”, adored her family and often said how lucky she was to have three beautiful daughters. She always held a soft spot for Massachusetts and her beloved ocean, which she missed every day.

A gathering of her family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2009, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A private committal service will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium.
