Marjorie Hamilton Gallier, 79, of Hamshire died August 23, 2009, at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital.

A resident of Hamshire for 37 years, Mrs. Gallier was a retired clerk of the court for Jefferson County.

Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery.  A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Gallier is survived by her sons, Tom Gallier and his wife Kathleen of Chapala, Mexico, Ernest Gallier and his wife Carol of Hamshire; daughter, Mary Ruth Barefield and her husband Gerald of San Augustine; sister-in-law, Mary James Ford of LaBelle; grandchildren, Kathy Barefield, Sandra Kirkland, Scooter Gallier, Kate Gallier, Becky Burns, Melissa Gallier, Heather Durschmidt; step-grandchildren, Charles Campbell, Marion Campbell; great-grandchildren, Kevin Watts, Ryan Burns, Witney Burns, Kyler Kirkland, Brianne Kirkland, Ashlyn Gallier, Kayla Anne Durschmidt; step-great-grandchild, Brison Campbell and numerous relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Ruth Hamilton; husband, Tommy Gallier; daughter-in-law, Pat Gallier; great-grandchild, Kenneth Watts.
