Daniel Devers, 73, of Fannett, died August 23, 2009, at his residence.

A forty year resident of Fannett, Mr. Devers was a retired heavy equipment operator.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2009, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 9894 Gilbert Rd. in Fannett with burial to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, 3098 North Hwy 69 in Nederland under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie.  A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with a rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Devers is survived by his sons, Daniel Devers, Jr. and his wife Angela of League City, Rodney Devers and his wife Marilyn of Nederland; daughters, Bonnie Blankneship and her husband Jesse of Fannett, Tammy Dufour of Hitchock, Marlinda Sims of Dallas; brothers, Kenneth Devers and his wife Judy of Fannett, Jimmy Devers and his wife Cathy of Mauriceville; sister, Shirley Adams and her husband Paul of Nederland; grandchildren, Kurt Dufour, Mandi Dufour, Kelly Owens and Jason, Allen Devers, Jessica Sims, Justin Thibodeaux, Barbie Thomas and Danny, Kay-Cee Dufour, Travis Blankenship and Kelley, Dana Devers, Kaylee Sims, Dominic Devers, Christopher Devers, Jacob Devers; great-grandchildren, Ethan Breaux, Riley Blankenship, Eli Blankenship and numerous relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dewitt and Edith Devers and his wife, Joyce Devers.
