Mary L. Loupe, 71, of Nederland passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 25, 2009 at the Church on the Rock with Rev. Ron Hammonds officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Mrs. Loupe was a native of Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was born October 22, 1937 to the late Lecil and Loretta Vernon. After moving to Port Arthur at age 9 she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. She was married to Richard Loupe who preceded her in death, for 51 years they lived most of their lives in the Nederland-Port Neches area. She was an ordained Minister and an active member of Church on the Rock. She is survived by three sons, Richard Loupe and wife Carol of Nederland, Mike Loupe and wife Kathy of Arlington, Jeff Loupe of Riverside, California; one granddaughter, Morgan Dell’Aqura of Stamford, Connecticut; three grandsons, Chris and Corey Loupe of Nederland, Conner Loupe of Arlington; one great grandson, Cade Loupe of Nederland and one great granddaughter expected to be born in November; two sisters, Norma McKaughan of Van Buren, Arkansas, and Alyce Bert of Lumberton. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and countless friends, each one of whose lives were touched by her warmth, love and compassion. Although she has moved on to be reunited with the love of her life in a much better place, she will always be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friends to all who knew her. |
