LaVerne Hill, 81, of Nederland passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2009 at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont. Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 21, 2009 at Broussard’s in Nederland with Rev. Micah Howell officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5 to 8 PM Thursday at the mortuary.   Mrs. Hill was born, October 3, 1927 in Pisgah, Texas to Willie Ray and Cletis Hutson. She lived in Nederland for 60 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nederland. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her parents, and the father of her children, Ted Ray Wisener, also her son Ronald Stephen Wisener. She is survived by her husband, Grady L. Hill of Nederland; daughter, Denna Sims and her husband Phillip of Nederland; two sons, Mike Wisener and his wife Allison of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and Tim Wisener and his wife Pam of Beaumont; step-son Gary Hill of Nederland; step-daughter, Glenda Thacker and husband Troy of Sugar Land, Gina Jamieson and husband Patrick of Katy; her sister, Mildred Lucas of Odessa and her brother, Lowery Hutson also of Odessa. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, Billy Ray Whitaker, Joe Wisener, Will Wisener, Sarah Hill, Aaron Thacker, Erica Dunken, Mandy Griffin, Mellie Bevilacqua, Amy Cherry and Emily Proctor and five great grandchildren, Ashtyn Dunken, Kaden Dunken, Brady Griffin, Carson Griffin and Sam Bevilacqua.   Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or to the First Baptist Church, 1911 Nederland Avenue, Nederland, Texas 77627.
