Laverne Willis Bice, 75, of Buna, died Saturday, August 15, 2009, at her residence in Buna.

Laverne was born in Waycross, Georgia and lived in the Buna area for several years where she was a homemaker.

She is survived by mother-in-law, Beatrice Bice; brother, James B. Willis and his wife Darnell; family members, Cindy Bice Charlton and her husband Phillip, Valerie Bice Moss and her husband Denney, Lisa Bice Vermillion and her husband Randy, Laura Bice Conaway and her husband Gary, Herman S. Bice, Jr. and his wife Pam, Alvie and Penny Stockwell, Rick and Sissy Alderson, Scott and Kim Shoquist, and Jerry and Peggy Anderson; thirteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Laverne is preceded in death by her husband, Herman S. Bice, Sr.; parents, Dave W. and Goldie G. Willis; and father-in-law, John H. Bice, Sr.

A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2009, at Magnolia Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas under the direction of Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee, Texas.  A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, August 21, 2009, from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Broussard’s.
