B. D. "Skip" King 
December 7, 1926 - August 15, 2009

B. D. “Skip” King, 82, of Beaumont died August 15, 2009, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital. A native of Galveston and resident of Beaumont since 1927, Skip retired as warehouse supervisor from Texaco Chemical (formerly Neches Butane) after thirty-seven years.  He was a World War II United States Navy Veteran and a member of the Sacred Heart Society and St. Joseph Catholic Church.

 

He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Mary Ann King; sons, Marcus King and Gregory King and his wife Carolyn all of Beaumont; daughter, Margaret Young and her husband James of Cypress; grandchildren, Anita Anderson and her husband Justin of Port Acres, Courtney King and Meagan King both of Beaumont, and Zachary Young of Cypress; and one great grandchild, Madison Prejean.  Skip was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen Bjorkgren and his brother, Jack King of St. Louis.

 

Funeral Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at Broussard’s, 1605 N Major Drive, Beaumont, followed by burial at Magnolia Cemetery.  A gathering of his family and friends will be Monday evening, August 17, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Christian Vigil at 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund, 1115 Orange Street, Beaumont, Texas 77701.
