Arthur Hicks Lewis Sr., 93, of Silsbee, died Friday, August 14, 2009, at Pine Arbor Healthcare Center in Silsbee.

Arthur lived in this area all his life.  He was a long time member of the First Pentecostal Church in Silsbee.  He worked as laborer in the oil field before retiring.

He is survived by his children, Arthur Hicks Lewis Jr. and his wife Chris of Lafayette, Colorado, Kenneth Lewis of Silsbee, Betty Jean Alexander of Fayettville, Arkansas, Jerry Wayne Lewis and his wife Dora of Houma, Louisiana, and Larry D’Wayne Lewis and his wife Bobbie of Buna, Texas; twelve grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Cooper of Fort Worth; a special nephew, Milton Lewis of Bleakwood; and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 18, 2009, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee, with Reverend C.M. Duplissey officiating,  burial to follow at Lewis Chapel Cemetery in Bleakwood.  A gathering of family and friends will be Monday, August 17, 2009 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Broussard’s.
